The north side of the Samazar Valley also houses a number of crags and summits - The Fortress is the steep broad tower at the left end of a chain of peaks that form the northern wall of the valley, and there is still scope here for much development. Long sunny outings (can get a bit hot on the faces, so a good winter venue) on good rock making very pleasant, adventurous routes with a well used Berber trail descent down the gully separating this buttress from the 3 Safinah ones.
