The Alport Stone © tutbury
A delightful freestanding 8m pinnacle with excellent rock and a climb for everyone. Despite being under 10m in height, the routes are all fairly intimidating. Belays can be hard to arrange at the top.
Park at the lower viewpoint car park and walk down into the shallow disused quarry to reach the pinnacle in a minute.
The Alport Stone is on National Trust land and there are no known access problems.
