Good, long routes on steep slate above a pond. This crag is on private land - in fact it is in someone's back garden!
Best climbs: Mango,18m (VS 4c). Branded, 17m (E8 6c), Need a Reeewind, (E3/4 5c) and Rhythm Collision, 21m (E5 6b). In fact they're all excellent!
I went to pay a visit during a rainy afternoon, just to seek permission for the future. Colnel Martin is apparently alive and well, he was just out for dinner when I called round. I spoke to his neighbours and they said they knew of him allowing climbers in the past but suggested I write him a letter. So I posted the letter politely asking about climbing. I included my phone number and I'm just waiting to hear back. Jamiewalkerjones - 04/Oct/20 |

So the number in the guidebook doesn't appear to work and my research suggests lord and lady Martin are no longer alive... any clues who to phone for access permission??

Fab crag but please please give the owner a call. Really nice gent, very accomodating to let people climb in his beautiful garden for a small charity donation. Need at least an HVS leader to be worthwhile. philhilo - 21/Apr/11 |
