Al Lee's latest film 'The Prophet' about Leo Houlding's decade long obsession with the new El Capitan route is showing at this year's festival. Plus there's a chance to see 'Father of the Pride' in which his 5 year old son Simon tackles a gritstone boulder.
More about Sheffield Adventure Film Festival:
Now in its 6th year, the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival (March 4-6) is bigger and better than ever. With a record-breaking number of entries, organiser Matt Heason has hand-picked sixty of the best adventure films from around the world. For climbers and mountaineers there's a cracking line-up with 3 special screenings including 'Swiss Machine' - Ueli Steck's alpine speed-climb of the Eiger; 'Point of No Return' - the story of Jonny Copp and Micah Dash's attempt to make a first ascent of China's Mt Edgar; and 'First-Ascent – The Brothers Wild' in which Timmy and his paralysed brother Sean tackle El Cap and Alaska's Ruth Gorge. There are also lectures by Andy Kirkpatrick and Kenton Cool.
