Whats going on with the random fixed ropes and gear found on Fiacaill Ridge (specifically in the vicinity of The Hurting...)? There was a static left at the top all winter and recently a friend of mine found two ropes and loads of gear left hanging down a line off the ridge, including a lot of pegs. All this rubbish has since been removed by a local - thanks Alex.
The most likely scenario seems to be that someone is trying to redpoint / inspect a route on the buttress in which case crack on, but please don't leave ropes hanging all over the crag. I know that sneccy isn't exactly Scotlands wildest crag but still.
If these are left as a result of a rescue then I wish those involved a speedy recovery, but as far as I can tell this isnt the case.
