So I just read about this fascinating piece of research. Relevant for me as I hate spiders…but thought it would be fun to see what you lot think.

Treating your fear of spiders could fix your fear of heights

Recent study suggests that exposure therapy for one phobia may also address other, untreated fears.

Though it’s not exactly clear why exposure to one fear may allow us to make progress with another, one theory is that exposure therapy allows us to develop emotional tools that can be used across all kinds of fear-eliciting stimuli, attenuating fear even towards something we have not been exposed to.

One cure (or kill) for the arachnophobic could be this: https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crags/moy_rock_dingwall-3457/robert_the_...

As an arachnophobe I would be interested in reading this but before I click the link, does the article include lots of pictures of spiders?

One at the start.  Its quite a large photo but (speaking as someone who is also afraid) I didn't find it too intimidating as it is very zoomed in and doesn't look how scary photos of spiders normally look like.

This is the link to the main scientific article it refers to, which has no spider pictures!
