Re-attaching the sole on La Sportiva Nepal Extremes

After a week in the Cairngorms, the front of the black rubber sole of my rather elderly La Sportiva Nepal Extremes has separated from the green plastic base to the boot and has been flapping about, accumulating grit and other debris at the join.

Has anybody had a similar problem and, if so, what was the solution? I'm wondering whether I need to go to a specialist mountain boot repairer or of the local cobbler would be OK and would be grateful for advice.

I'd speak to your local cobbler and see what they think?

Otherwise, a load of gorilla glue and a clamp.

Following this thread as the sole completely detached from my Nepals when I missed the last bin from the Plan D'Aiguille last summer and had to walk down, which was rather frustrating.

Lancashire Sports Repairs was what I thought would be best too but am yet to try out.

I've had some success with that mcnett shoe glue (freesole?) I have also had boots where the rubber had completely degraded and no amount of glue would fix.

I had a pair of Scarpas where the Vibram EVA midsole degraded, and the rubber sole delaminated from it. Gluing would have been a waste of time. Still have them in a cupboard somewhere, and probably ought to think about Vibram's resoling programme...

There was another thread on here a while ago about repairing soles and Klebfest was recommended by a few posters - I'm experimenting with that on some trail shoes at the moment, but not tried the repair yet.

Thanks very much for the suggestions. In the first instance, I've taken them to my local cobbler who thinks the sole can be re-attached easily enough. At £5, it seems worth a go as the soles have at least 50% wear left.

As a fall back, I will go for a full re-sole at £85 from Lancashire Sports Repairs.
