Can anybody suggest where to find a reference-able map for a university assignment? There's plenty of maps online, but I'm wondering about the validity of what is available.

"reference-able" in what sense ? I've read (& reviewed) papers which reference Google Maps & Google Earth, while pre-Web it was common to cite atlases such as the Times or Le Monde. Maybe we could help you more easily if you explain what you want to show ? eg is it just to show the distribution of the major mountain chains ?

Yes, it would just be to show the distribution of the mountain chains.

I've found a map on the National Geographic website which seems legit enough, but if you've reviewed papers which reference google maps, I will have a look there too. That's good enough to know for me to get on with what I'm doing.
