Whilst I get the point that you're trying to make, winter does require more kit than summer. Granted, you could save weight (and money) by not taking an additional warm layer, a spare pair of gloves, a group shelter or a first aid kit, but would it be wise to do so? Probably not...
In terms of the kit featured, we actively tried to be quite general. As such, we're not saying you need a Generator Alpine Jacket, but what we are suggesting is that packing a warm, synthetic jacket would be wise.
