At the risk of shamelessly promoting my own blog, a post about Faindouran Bothy. Severely damaged in a winter storm back in 2013, repairs were long and drawn out because of its remoteness. Last year it was properly wind and watertight, and last weekend the heart finally returned to it with the installation of the stove. https://cairngormwanderer.wordpress.com/2016/06/01/faindouran-bothy-back-in... Take in your own fuel though - apart from some scrap wood just now, there's little enough in the area.

Looking forward to going back. Are they keeping the Stables open too, now that there is a floor in?

Cheers for posting, have never stayed there but I had heard about the damage.

Yes, the stable is being kept, complete with floor and the concrete floor in the doorway which I helped mix the cement for. There may be further improvements there in the long term but I think for the moment the MOs will be happy to see the main bothy back to full health.

The bothy looks lovely, and a ceilidh in such circumstances must have been magical.
