For me, no way. I like, in fact I need, the facility to zoom optically with a compact. Also most phones don't shoot RAW. (I'm surprised a professional photographer didn't flag this up as a huge draw back with most mobiles but the report was probably aiming to keep it simple.) I believe some now can shoot RAW, but those two factors are currently the big downside for me with a mobile phone camera.
