I'm still researching insurance options for travel and trekking following my treatment last year for Lymphoma. Obviously there are a number of things to consider; among them being that some companies will provide full cover but at considerable cost. Others will provide cover but with exclusions relating to pre-existing medical conditions, one of these disappointingly being the BMC.
Another option I'm considering is to rejoin the AAC whose membership fee includes SAR insurance. I would then take out a separate travel(only) insurance. As a senior AAC membership would cost me £36(and give me reduced hut rates) and I have seen some travel only quotes(with no exclusions) for about the same.
Just wondering if there could be any problems with doing it this way?
