Ice climbing Bronte sisters
My daughter took me on a visit to the nearby Bronte Parsonage this morning. It's a wonderful monument which I never tire of visiting and today I was thrilled to find a tiny pair of mid-nineteenth century crampons amongst the exhibits.
Now we know the Bronte waterfalls are so named, not for their literary associations, but for the first ascensionists.
