Hey there,
My girlfriend and I are wanting to walk across Scotland this summer. We would start at Aberdeen, make our way to Braemar and then on to Linn o' Dee. Then we will take a detour and climb some munros, starting with Ben Macdui and then going over to Devils Point, along to Cairn Toul and finally Braeriach. Then I think we will backtrack a bit and come down the South-West side of Carn na Criche, and somehow make our way to Fort William that way. I don't have much of a plan from this point on, so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or advice.

Google "tgo challenge" for all the coast to coast info (in reverse) you'll ever need.

Search for "East Highland Way" - a lesser known version of it's "West" big brother - goes from FW to Aviemore, so you should be able to pick it up around Kingussie

Here you go http://www.easthighlandway.com/

Try and get a copy of "Across Scotland on Foot" by Ron Turnbull - has much info on this route (and several worthy others)

With only the information in your post to refer to, I'd be tempted to go in the opposite direction to avoid the prevailing headwind.

Time the walk for May or early June to avoid the worst of the midges, can't recommend this too highly if you're camping. You'll get the long days and some snow on the hills in May which always looks nice too.

Drop down into Glen feshie and make your way to Kingussie/ Newtonmore through the forest paths (have a look at the Scottish national trail route for this section) and either do East highland way or Corrieairyack to fort Augustus and down the great glen way

or drop down into Glen Feshie and use bridge or ford the river and work your way over to Glen Tromie via the path that leaves Feshie on the shoulder of Carn dearg Mor, walk west through Glen Tromie to Bhran cottage and then up via the Alt na fannich (you might have to make your own track here) and onwards to Loch Cuaich then onwards to Dalwhinnie.

From there its a glorious 40 mile walk down loch Etricht, culra, Bealach Dubh, Loch Ossian, Loch trieg, Glen nevis and Fort William

Have a look at this link to give you an idea of the land after Dalwhinnie
