Of on a trip shortly, mainly SE Asia, mostly backpacking/hostels, will be away for around 4 months or so. Been there before but not for quite so long, Any particular kit to take? Mostly looking to hear that all those "travel washing lines" etc are unneccesery.

what I would say is to take light sleeping bag ,and Bivi bag ,and you can always get some kip if you cant get in anywhere or end up away from Hostels etc

Definitely recommend a decent travel towel, something like this:

Towel was one of the things I thought was probably useful, for the beach, for towel drying clothes and to avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal.
picked up a 80x110cm one for $10.

How about the old 'sleeping bag liner in case of manky hostels' thing? Anyone had need for one? IV spent a bit of time in hostels and never found the need but maybe Iv been lucky...
