Trekking and Wild Camping in the Brandon Massif

We visit the Dingle Peninsula, County Kerry, surrounded on three sides by the mighty Atlantic Ocean, with a spine that is rugged and mountainous. The Brandon Massif can lay claim to some of the most picturesque views of seascapes and glacial mountainscapes in Ireland, offering among the very best hillwalking experiences this island has to offer. We undertook a three day trek with two nights wild camping over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend in April 2015, in glorious weather conditions. Starting from Mount Brandon Hostel in Cloghane, we did a circular route covering over 40km, taking in 12 summits including Mount Brandon at 952m.
