Impressive peak, impressive route and impressive perseverance. How different must the view have seemed from the summit than the almost identical view from 100m lower and 3 years earlier. Couldn't help but notice one quote that jumped out at me: "dragging loads equivalent in weight to 2 bath tubs". I don't know about you but I'm so used to dragging bathtubs up mountains I know exactly what he means!?

Hmmm.... Impressive achievement but as a film it did very little for me - I should have heeded the "cheesy" warning. It really lacked any positivity at all. Reminded me somewhat of the Whillans quote: "It's just a job of werk". Without the wit and good humour.

An amazing ascent to be sure, but the film is just too dour to be enjoyable or involving IMO. The voiceover is only tolerable if you imagine it's Chris Morris delivering it.

What an amazing achievement showing courage and tenacity. Considering the exposure and conditions the filming is astonishingly good. I particularly like the spindrift sequence. I think the commentary matched the seriousness of the situation, but it's also a cultural difference. The Brits tend to be less intense, more jokey and self-deprecating.
