Started climbing in 1971 in Peak. Wales, Lakes and Alps until 1975. Moved to BC, Canada 1975 climbed in US, Cascades, Yosemite, Red Rock Nev. but mostly in Coast and Cascade ranges in BC. Occasional summer trips to Rockies, Selkirks, etc. I had an excellent trip to Scotland in 2010 climbing in Skye, Cairngorms, Ben Nevis, Central Highlands and Glen Coe. Most spring, summer and autumn weekends I try to bag a peak.
Retired from work in 2013. I'm much more active in the mountains since then. Almost every weekend I'm out in the Cascades of Washington State and BC - peak bagging. I'm less inclined to spend time at crags than scrambling; I like the continual movement.
August 30th, 2020, my pal Bruce and I climbed Mt. Foley in the Cheam Range. It was the last in that range for me to bag, so I got the t-shirt. Really, I got the t-shirt, available from Waddington Outdoors in Chilliwack, BC. I uploaded the picture of the front of the t-shirt.
November, 2021 the flood-plain became a lake again, cutting off Vancouver, by road, from the rest of BC, then Canada. But the rails kept running. Last summer I watched the CP and CN long trains travel up and down the Fraser Valley, from the tight Hell's Gate to Lytton, then Lytton burned down.
Spent the recent hot summers being out in the BC forests. And in my garden. We hiked/scrambled many peaks. I've lived here for 45 years - I'm now learning so much about the local nature.
We hiked up near the Burgess Shale, in 2021. Pix included.
