I had a health scare in January 2016 and needed to do something about my fitness. So took up hill walking. I started walking 1 mile up and down a hill near where I lived every day. A month later, I upped it to 2 miles. Another month to 5 miles. By the end of March I was walking a 10 mile hike every week and between 2-5 miles daily. In May I attempted my first long distance trail which failed after 16miles due to cramps and getting lost. I completed the trail over the summer months and it introduced me to my first summit in June.
I then went on to bag all the Hewitts in Northumberland. With the shortening daylight hours, I bagged all of the Marilyns in Northumberland.
2017, I started on the Wainwrights and completed the ten highest summits in England by July.
