Born in Lancashire, surrounded by so many crags and quarries I started climbing at 12. I served my time as a joiner and still work self employed. Got married in 1976 and moved to North Wales so was again surrounded even more and bigger crags. Living here got me well into the winter stuff and I did my first skiing at PYB which I've kept up. Climbed and skied in the Alps quite a lot both summer and winter. Not so active now, but it's in the blood so still can't leave it alone.
