Goatfell at age four. Scrambling progressed to climbing on summer holidays to Iona and Erraid as a kid. Some Munros in my mid teens with heros like Hamish Hamilton (of Agag's Groove and South Ridge Direct fame), and meeting Bill Murray, Bill McKenzie et al. So "old school" climbing was inevitable, with an old rope in the Trossachs and The Whangie after school, often sleeping out and trudging back to school in the morning. Then a wee club in Glencoe, and a University Club, and onwards and upwards...
