The Western Isles off Tarbet, with the tender being loaded.
The gentleman holding the mailbag is Donald MacDonald, postmaster and sole resident, born a mile west at Ardintigh in 1915.
The sail to Mallaig was the first leg of my journey back to Glasgow, and a week of night shifts.
