Standing in a salt pan just after a rain shower? Bolivia/Chile ?

:-) A big big big salt pan. In the rainy season. I've been when it was dry too, but I recommend the rain! And I think it being about 5am helps the light, but it was freezing!

Is it bolivia? Salar de coipasa or Uyuni? I spent a fair bit of time at the northern end of Coipasa in 1994 doing work for my thesis, but never experienced this (although I'd heard about it). Probably just as well, as I was camped on the salt!

It's near Uyuni, and I think was about this time of year (mid jan) a few years ago. The water was really only about 1 or 2 mm deep - it didn't come over the soles of my trainers.
