Good effort, i've never seen anyone on that!

It is 4c and nice climbing except from the grassy topout.

I'm with Hindu, good effort! Whenever I've looked up there I've thought no way! Nice alternative photo to the usual one looking left across the slab with a bit of branch seeming to grow out of the leader's ear...

You should try it. Protection is excellent, the holds are good and the position is better than on the slab.

good picture! it's a pity that the subject matter leading looks like a geeky throwback form the seventies! RonHillTastic! Although it is saved by the beefy guy in pinky lilac!

I know that hunk belaying, he's gorgeous! I,d like him to have my kids, but I've already got five, all with different dads. He and his usual climbing partner "The Walrus" are a couple of climbing sensations on anything up to, and including V Diff. They're also very good at disco dancing.

Brilliant picture! Brings back memories of my first proper climbing expedition. I had persuaded a non-climbing mate to come to the Lakes and we set off from Langdale before camping at Styhead. The next day, rain on the tops forced us to Shepherds where we duly set off up Ardus, then graded a very moderate severe. Despite him being in walking boots with a sling for a harness and I with only a very few bits of shiny new gear we made good progress to the second stance. Disbelief and inexperience saw me heading up the direct finish rather than the totally implausible normal finish. An amazing day out!
