Your point makes for an interesting debate Duncan. I wouldn't dissuade anyone from using pads if they want. I just feel that using pads detracts from the reward you get from climbing it, as i said in my log. It kinda feels similar to climbing a route with pre-placed gear, essentially reducing its E-grade. With the crux where it is on this I would agree that its a high-ball with pads.
