Is this the start of the first pitch? The background makes it look like the start of the big pitch (3), which doesn't usually have this sort of bare ice.

Sean, this is the big pitch, three-quarters of the way up the route. Photo taken from the grade III variation that sneaks round the left.

If the neve is good it's best to keep going instead of f*rting about with screws, but make sure you have enough rope to reach the belay. I didn't!
