A pseudo-HDR picture. Very high contrast between the rocks (black) and the sky (washed out). Extracted two separate images from the RAW file, one optimised for the shadows and one for the sky. Merged back together to create a reasonable picture.

Clever- I think that you may be able to do something similar with the "control points" in Nikon Capture NX- but very quickly and simply- I'm just learning...

Er, yes, lovely picture, but poor old nature has taken a hammering from Photoshop. For it's untruthful quality, despite being a good and moody image, I'd give it about 3 or 4. Still pondering.

I've got to say, this actually looks more 'real' than most photos. The dynamic range of the eye is quite different from the average camera, so this looks, to me, much more natural. I love it.
