Generally poor visibility all the way to around 6200m on Chopicalqui abated for sunrise and then engulfed us again. The calmness of the scene belies the suffering going on behind the lens. I'm not sure i have ever been so cold or worried about my toes and fingers so much. Hey ho, the picture and experience of witnessing it were worth it.

Great picture…which brings back some equally horrific memories!
Which other mountains did you climb while you were out there?
I’ve had to put family commitments to the front of the queue for the time-being, but I’m determined to return to the Cordillera Blanca.
