It's a shame that in the past 20 odd years abbing this part has become the norm. It is without doubt the most exhilarating part of the ridge. Although nuts looking from above it is surprisingly easy apart from the last 6ft to the ground. In reverse the start is worse and in winter nick like climbing a greasy pole!
I think it's better going from North to South anyway. The ridge felt much more natural thst way and you get to do the interesting bits in ascent that way too.
