A spur of the moment trip up for a idea we had over the past few months. The conditions were perfect. So post night shift drown down. Hiked up and bivvied until 2am.
Proof of concept worked. Now to take my tracking mount to perfect it. Conditions couldn't have been better. -5 and clear skies.

Terrific photo thanks.

I had the same idea in May but unlike you, I couldn’t be bothered to haul my gear up there. All credit to you, great shot

Pretty amazing photo. What exactly was the exposure? Perfect capture!

Great photo. Don't usually go for night shots, but this one nails it.

Many thanks for the kids words.
The Exposure was around 15 Seconds. I had taken many shots to try and learn stacking and to smooth out the higher ISO.
If i remember correctly was ISO 4000, F3.2, 15 Seconds.
I now have an astro mount so the plan is a return trip. for ISO 400 and a 4 min exposure.

With modern camera you can get away with high ISO and resulting noise more easily.
