Well worth viewing full size to appreciate the detail captured in this wonderful shot.

Nice shot, but there's quite a sharpening issue round the edge of the moon which is less noticeable in the smaller image.

I'm not sure what the sharpening issues are. Is it not just the thin cloud and the fact that a low moon is always slightly fuzzied by the atmosphere?

No it's more than that, there's a distinct black line round the outline of the moon, often a consequence of over-sharpening.

I have looked at the RAW file again and the outline of the moon looks the same and I did no sharpening in processing, so a mystery!

was there in summer , cracking shot , loved to have been there when this was taken .
