Tony Booth - original dirtbag climber, man of many parts, equipment innovator and well known character on the Tremadog scene in the early 70s (though I think the photo shows him at his original stomping ground, Llanymenech). Following him up Last Slip, which he laced with tiny, home made stoppers on 5mm line, was a masterclass in controlled, neat, precision climbing.

Am I right in thinking he died whilst soloing on Clogwyn yr Oen in the early 80s?

I'm pretty sure he died soloing, though I'd long lost contact with him by then. I do know there's a route named after him at Tremodog - 'In Memoriam.'
