That isn't Glencoe...

Technically you're correct, but if you're on Buachaille Etive Mor you're at the head of Glen Coe

Good morning Rannoch Moor! Just as good :-)

Hmmm, by that argument the ski resort also needs to rename itself Rannoch Moor Ski Centre - I'll stand by the original title until it does!

its not curved ridge either ;-)

Nothing gets past you eh ;-)
Hamish Frost - 09/Sep/16
But yeah admittedly it's not, however it's pretty commonly done as an extension of Curved Ridge (as it was that day)

great shot

I am puzzled as to why the horizon appears so curved.
Robert Durran - 11/Sep/16
It's a well known fact that if you climb to the top of crowberry tower and put your camera on a really long selfie-stick you can see the curvature of the earth
Hamish Frost - 11/Sep/16
Well obviously. But I'm genuinely interested why!

I think it's just down to a bit of lens distortion on the sony rx100
Hamish Frost - 11/Sep/16
Mmm...... don't seem to get anything like that on my rx100.....
Robert Durran - 11/Sep/16
Just looked into this now - if you remove any lens correction from the raw files from the rx100 then you get this curvature when shooting at 24mm. It's an older shot so can't remember editing it, but must have removed this at the time for whatever reason (likely that I was less familiar with editing software than I am now).

Thanks. That's that explained then!
