Wearing shorts on Etive slabs - brave!

Excellent photo [and also caption - really made me laugh].

She has that look, the one where the really safe hold is just that one move away.

"You're only a 5m slide from enforced hot pants"
A friend's justification for his choice of homemade shorts, shorter than these...

The reason for her terror is that she has no technique at all.
At that angle slabs should be almost relaxing.
"Nose over toes does it".
"Arse over toes doesn't"

She's leading.
The rope is almost tight to her.
She cannot find her own balance with the sideways vector of force.
All this is done in the cause of making her feel safer, but really she shits herself every time the tension in the rope alters, so she can never get comfortable in her own climbing space..
This isn't a good way to learn to climb trad.
However, good luck to her.

I've seen some condescending rubbish on this site, but rarely at that level.
