After a week of cloudy skies we made the most of some sunshine. Summitted Jiehkkevarri (highest mountain in Lyngen) at midnight, with the sun sitting spectacularly on the horizon.

Good effort! It's a big day out isn't it? :) I remember the slog back on to Holmbuktind on the way back was a bit wearing. How low did the snow go in late May? Could you ski back to the road?

The snow level was quite high, it was about 45 minutes hike to/from the road till the snow line (approx 300m vert.). But the snow higher up was excellent. We continued the traverse to Fugldalen - it was spectacular. The traditional exit to Forneset involved a 10k hike which we didn't fancy!
