Espolon Pertemba gave a fine day. Pitch 1 was a complete horror show of loose rock, above this the rock was good as was the climbing. The route finding high up was quite tricky and the descent really awkward to find. The guidebook comments of 'Not to be under-estimated' are spot on. Really enjoy this sort of route.

I think I dodged the looseness on the 1st pitch by keeping slightly to the left - agreed about the route finding near the top - especially if you do the variation finish as the topo is wrong!
We also missed the descent and had to backtrack quite a bit.

In retrospect, going left for the first pitch now seems like a good option, next time!
We may have done some / all of the variation finish, the final pitch certainly felt at least 5.
I now realise where we went astray with the descent, we should have followed a scree gully uphill to the right, then after the steep ground turned left uphill to reach the descent terrace. It all added to the adventure. Will go back for more routes on these rocks one day.
