Great effort and I love the photo. By the way how did you descend from the Blanche?

Ah, the descent - "character-building stuff"!
First over the Point Jones, the subsidiary summit, then a series of awkward abseils to the Col de Peuterey. Then wallowing across the upper Freney glacier plateau, to try to find the Couloir Eccles, which had unfortunately completely vanished. Then up the invisible couloir, and down steep snow the other side. Then a long, long front-pointing traverse above the Broulliard glacier, to finally find the bivy hut at 9:30 pm.
Next morning, after a wild night, a determined descent to the Monzino hut.
