Even without the terrible circunstances it's still a very striking photo image. Is that the Baltoro Glacier in the background?

Sean that is mostly the Godwin-Austen glacier but you can see a bit of the Baltoro from the 90 bend. That bend is basically Concordia and in front of that Mitre Peak.
