Family holiday, 1954. Crossing Rannoch Moor from Loch Ossian youth hostel to Rannoch Station, pushing our junior-back tandems. Mountain bikes yet to be invented.

Also yet to be invented - decent footwear. Those look like Clarke's best!

This was the 1950s! We only had one pair of shoes while our feet were still growing. I got my first pair of cycling shoes aged 14 (just in time to start a brief career riding time trials.)
