Thanks for feedback all. Tech details for this are Pentax K5, ISO1600, f2.8 on a Sigma 15mm and 10 secs exposure. Shot RAW, post processing in Lightroom / ACR, increased exposure in post by just under 1 stop, dropped the black level and upped the clarity. Bobs your uncle.
