Another cracker Dave! How do you get the sky to be such a lovely azure blue, but keep the snow shadows on the purple side?

Hi Jamie, glad you like these, it's seem to have been so long since a decent day in the hills! This one was not forecast, so it was a nice surprise. As far as colour goes, I think it might be partly to do with the larger sensor of the 5D being able to make more subtle gradations within a colour band. I don't use any filter on the camera apart from clear glass for protection.
I find the Graduated Filter in Camera Raw is really useful as well as changing saturation levels for shadows and highlights.

Thanks for the info. It's radiant like slide film - I shall refer back to these colours when I'm tweaking my shots!
