Crevasse, Ross Island, Antarctica. An abseil through a break in the crevasse roof and a couple hundred feet traverse along a snow bridge allowed us to get an idea of the true scale of this crevasse.

Now that you mention it, I remember thinking that the block above the entrance did look a bit dodgy!
