A 2 1/2 hour exposure from bivvi spot just off the Corridor Route, looking towards Great Gable and roughly north. The light pollution from Carlisle creating the yellow and orange glow in the photo was barely discernible on the night. There's no digital noise on this one!
I bet you didn't know that 'small stars are cool (less than 3000°C) with a red-ish appearance, whereas big heavy stars are hot (over 30,000°C), and have a blue-ish glow. At around 6,000 °C, our Sun is considered to be on the cooler side and, as we all know, has a yellow-ish look about it.' There you go...
