A fantastic flight from Aonach Mor over to the Ben. I spent an hour playing around above the top using the thermal coming out of 5 Finger Gully to top up my height. What privileged views! This is a stitch of 4 photos, not easy in rough thermic conditions!

This angle really encapsulates the complexity of the hill like no other angle! Is it tricky to use something as unweildy as a 5D while keeping control?

On a flight like this in strong thermic conditions, most of the time is spent controlling the wing and finding and staying in a thermal to get as high as possible. You need to keep hold of the brakes whilst taking pictures just in case something happens that requires pilot input so yes, it is tricky but for the quality of photo that you come away with it's more than worth it. For the panoramic shots I use manual settings so once set up it's just a question of panning around.

Another wonderful shot! Thanks for uploading - a priviledge for you, and also for us to see the Ben from an unusual angle
