A solitary runner lets gravity take charge back to a fog-bound home while a single sheep looks on.

This shot is a real winner!
Tom Last - 09/Apr/12
Cheers!

yeah great shot
The Pylon King - 10/Apr/12
Sorry Pontius, but ....... how do we know that the runner is 'letting gravity take charge'? Or even that his house is fog-bound? Do you know him, did you talk to him? And what about that sheep? Personally, I think it's looking at you, not the runner. What really happened here? Verifiable facts please. Oh what the hell - have a 5!
Lankyman - 11/Apr/12
Well Karl, I was with a group that knew him, so he'd stopped to talk to us - that was his route home - this isn't staged - and his home was down in the foggy valley Hadfield/Padfield/Glossop way (Glossop is just beyond the wooded middle ground rising from the fog).
Although the sheep was very obliging by staying where it was - it had started off by watching the runner, and then, just before I took this, turned round and looked at us (as we were conspicuous on the skyline). I *may* break my ethical principles and copy the sheep pointing in the 'correct' direction from an earlier shot, but if I can get a '5' without faffing about like that..! ;-)
PontiusPirate - 11/Apr/12
Thank you for clearing that up - I won't be winding myself up into an ethical rage now. Still ...... I do find it hard to believe that anyone would actually run towards Glossop (even with gravity assist)?
Lankyman - 11/Apr/12
stunning shot. Is that really suburban Manchester?
Mike421 - 16/Apr/12
Well, I wouldn't refer to it as the suburbs, but it is within working distance of one of the outer ones (and all the grimness is primly hidden by fog!)
PontiusPirate - 16/Apr/12
awesome photo, even better with the banter
