The tree was right at the upper limit of the cloud inversion filling the Eden Valley.

Thanks, Russell - it was a fantastic day, one of the best inversions we've seen for a few years. The Lakes seemed to be under cloud most of the time while we had warm sun - till we passed the tree!

Thanks, Nicholas. There must have been hundreds of folk out on the Lakes fells but we saw barely half a dozen out on the 'sunny side'. Doesn't that make you feel smug when that happens?!
