I think he's off route. If that's the final pitch the 'true one step in the clouds' is the blankish wall going up to the left, quite bold and bare, he's skiving off along Hail Bebe - a common mistake (I think).

To Rob - yes, technically I believe you are right, but the 'proper' finish is very artifical and it's a much more enjoyable/natural line to romp up the flake (and you can make that harder by a mantle half way along if you really insist). A more relevant mistake is where people slink off leftwards on the main pitch rather than tackling the final steep'ish section.

Hmm ... I was there last week and the 'proper' finish - straight up the blankish slab - is now getting overgrown by an oak tree. Shame, because it used to be quite a bold move in an exposed position.
