Another gem Paul - I have a couple of qestions. You refer to the 12th ascent of Kipling in 1955 and this is some years after Pete's legendary ascent (4th or 5th?) where he spat on the peg placed by Joe. Who was Pete with that day and who were the climbers that led it in the meantime ?

This was the first time I climbed in Langdale with Pete. It was he who told me the numbers when we did both those routes that weekend..When he spat might have been with Freddy Williams? Patsy Walsh I know had done Kiplings..all I know. DG was REALLY wild.
