I am supposed to have voted 5 for this but this is my first viewing.
It is worth a 6 though

Almost certainly not a real shot - a shame, because it is stunning. You are brilliant at these photo-illustrations.

Real or not, bloody good!
Alex Purser - 09/Dec/04
what do you mean, 'not real'? please explain??
al siddons - 10/Apr/05
Would you explain how you created this photo. I like it, but it does not look like a single exposure. It looks like several photos have been stitched, and like the clouds have been enhanced in some way. It is very interesting.

I voted rubbish. It's too bleedin' small.
colski - 20/Apr/05
It's not stitched, just a crop of a single 3Mp frame. The original was converted to greyscale and tinted with duotone - a technique originally used in printing to make interesting prints with just two or three inks. Its also useful today because colour printers are better a printing duotone images than plain black'n'white ones. I also applied some dodging and burning locally to control the detail. The cloud are pretty much untouched. If you're interested, the colour original is on my website (see profile).

Eh......

That's awesome. I put the colour original as the background on my computer, replacing the evil monkey from family guy.

Seems real to me - it's all original photographic printing techniques - no problem with that.
You think the Models on fashion mags are not edited in photoshop?
Great job.

Beautiful image. Whats with the "real shot" comments? Ansel adams cropped his pics, and dodged and burned em too!
