Good one "its"... climbing used to be something you did for fun and when the pubs were closed.

Yeah, I remember retreating from a climb on Raven Crag, in Langdale, just to get to the bar for the 3:00pm last orders, dashing down the screes, and getting three pints each in. Wouldn't do to miss that, eh? That was only in the '80s. Great times. Kipping in vans on pub car parks, and them being alright with it, and the ODG car park was free then. Bastards now.

Fantastic. This is a great idea, all classic climbs should have their own folk band, question is, what were they playing? 'You keep me hangin' on' 'Puppet on a String'... . Aye, spot on. Some idiots are under the mistaken belief climbing is a sport. It's not, it's a bloody pastime! - just for fun.
